About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead complex project planning and preliminary design analysis to support Capital Project Scope Development Studies (CPSDS)
- Review and analyze Capital Project Proposals to identify critical scope issues
- Assess project feasibility and constructability and recommend alternative implementation strategies
- Conduct site-specific drainage capacity studies using GIS data and/or InfoWorks programs
- Integrate drainage solutions with broader infrastructure and nature-based solutions
- Coordinate with DOT, DEP, and Parks to align proposed scope with planned improvements
- Develop cost estimates or benefit-cost analyses for capital investments
- Develop scope proposals and consultant task orders for new CPSDs
- Manage consultant contracts and review design drawings, reports, and presentations
- Supervise a team of Engineers performing Enhanced Capital Planning and Engineering tasks
Requirements
- Four years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work
- Valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
- Ability to work full-time in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in civil engineering (may substitute for one year of required experience)
- Experience as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project within the last three years
