About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise a team of Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Inspectors, and Junior Engineers
- Conduct constructability review meetings to minimize construction delays
- Generate project data and cost proposals to aid in field problem resolution and contract negotiations
- Inspect contracted work to ensure compliance with Agency and City policies and standards
- Evaluate and recommend design or redesign modifications for engineering structures
- Serve as the Agency's on-site representative to coordinate with public and private sector representatives
- Develop and train employees
Requirements
- Experience managing or inspecting construction projects with a minimum cost of $300,000 per year
- High school diploma plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management plus 1 year of experience
- Valid New York State motor vehicle driver license
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing and OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to complete DDC training)
- Must meet specific Civil Service criteria for Construction Project Manager title
