About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise a team of Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Inspectors, and Junior Engineers
  • Conduct constructability review meetings to minimize construction delays
  • Generate project data and cost proposals to aid in field problem resolution and contract negotiations
  • Inspect contracted work to ensure compliance with Agency and City policies and standards
  • Evaluate and recommend design or redesign modifications for engineering structures
  • Serve as the Agency's on-site representative to coordinate with public and private sector representatives
  • Develop and train employees

Requirements

  • Experience managing or inspecting construction projects with a minimum cost of $300,000 per year
  • High school diploma plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management plus 1 year of experience
  • Valid New York State motor vehicle driver license
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing and OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to complete DDC training)
  • Must meet specific Civil Service criteria for Construction Project Manager title
