About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise a team of Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Inspectors, and Junior Engineers
- Conduct constructability review meetings to minimize construction delays
- Inspect contracted work to ensure compliance with Agency and City policies and standards
- Generate cost proposals and estimates for contract price negotiations
- Evaluate and recommend design and redesign modifications of engineering structures
- Serve as the Agency's on-site representative to coordinate with public and private sector representatives
- Develop and train employees
Requirements
- Four years of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work
- Valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing and OSHA 10-hour Certification (or ability to complete DDC training)
- Must be permanent in the Civil Engineer title or reachable on specific DDC Promotional/Open-Competitive lists
- Authorized to work full-time in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in civil engineering (may substitute for one year of required experience)
- Experience as a major contributor or project leader on complex projects within the last three years
