About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a staff of 4–6 engineers and technicians designing sewers, water mains, and roadways
  • Oversee the design of capital roadway, sewer, and water main projects
  • Coordinate project development stages with interagency and private utility companies
  • Review and produce final contract plans, estimates, and specifications
  • Manage consultant design contracts and review design drawings, studies, and reports
  • Prepare and review Critical Path Method (CPM) design schedules
  • Assist in the preparation of consultant task orders and technical consultant selection

Requirements

  • Four years of full-time experience in civil engineering work
  • Valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
  • Ability to work onsite in Long Island City, NY

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in civil engineering (can substitute for one year of experience)
  • Experience as a major contributor or project leader on complex projects
