Engineer-In-Charge

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise a team of Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Inspectors, and Junior Engineers
• Conduct constructability review meetings to minimize construction delays
• Generate project data and cost proposals to aid in field problem resolution and contract negotiations
• Inspect contracted work to ensure compliance with Agency and City policies and standards
• Evaluate and recommend design or redesign modifications for engineering structures
• Serve as the Agency's on-site representative to coordinate with public and private sector stakeholders
• Develop and train employees

Requirements

• Permanent status in Construction Project Manager title or filed for Open-Competitive Exam #3042
• High school diploma plus 5 years of construction project management/inspection experience (min $300k per project)
• OR a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management plus 1 year of relevant experience
• OR a valid professional license (PE, RA, or Landscape Architect) plus 1 year of relevant experience
• Valid New York State motor vehicle driver license
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing and OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to complete DDC training)
• Authorization to work in the United States
