Engineer-In-Charge

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise a team of Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Inspectors, and Junior Engineers
• Conduct constructability review meetings to minimize construction delays
• Generate project data and cost proposals to aid in field problem resolution and contract negotiations
• Inspect contracted work to ensure compliance with Agency and City policies and standards
• Evaluate and recommend design or redesign modifications for engineering structures
• Serve as the Agency's on-site representative to coordinate with public and private sector stakeholders
• Develop and train employees

Requirements

• One year of full-time experience supervising employees in project management for engineering, architectural, or landscape architectural projects
• Experience supervising a construction project with a value of $1,000,000 or more
• Baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing and OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to complete DDC training)
• Must meet specific Civil Service criteria (Permanent Associate Project Manager or specific exam eligibility)
