Engineer III, Manufacturing Execution Systems

Responsibilities

• Serve as the frontline point of contact for shop-floor users, troubleshooting complex issues for Apprentice Tempo, Syncade, DeltaV, and Aveva SCADA platforms.
• Perform structured troubleshooting across application, configuration, and basic infrastructure layers to minimize production impact.
• Coordinate with Operations, Quality, and IT departments to restore services and resolve incidents quickly.
• Maintain and improve support documentation, including runbooks, KB articles, and SOPs.
• Execute standard change-control activities and configuration updates in alignment with GxP and data-integrity expectations.
• Monitor system health, identify patterns, and propose corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Mentor junior engineers through shadowing, ticket reviews, and documentation feedback.
• Note: This is a night shift position (6PM-6AM, Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), specifically Tempo or Syncade.
• Experience with MES business processes for electronic batch record execution and automation systems.
• Working understanding of cGMP manufacturing operations, GAMP, and CSV/change-control practices.
• Strong skills in incident triage, root-cause analysis, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work onsite full-time in Norwood, MA.
• Must hold valid US work authorization without the need for future sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Depth in two or more systems: Tempo, Syncade, Aveva SCADA, DeltaV, or BMS.
• Strong customer-service mindset with experience facilitating user training.
• Experience coaching or mentoring junior engineers.
• Proven track record of continuous improvement and reducing ticket volume through automation or standardization.
