Engineer II-IT Systems

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers using RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu distributions
• Manage user accounts, file systems, permissions, and security policies
• Monitor system performance and resource utilization while troubleshooting OS-level issues
• Perform kernel upgrades, system patches, and vulnerability remediation
• Implement automation using Shell/Bash or Python scripting and configuration management tools like Ansible
• Manage storage, backups, disaster recovery, and system failover procedures
• Provide L2 support, root cause analysis, and performance optimization for Linux environments
• Perform hardware datacenter tasks including server racking, stacking, and physical component replacement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals, boot processes, file systems, and networking concepts
• Hands-on experience with RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu administration
• Expertise in Shell/Bash scripting and automation tools such as Ansible
• Experience with system monitoring tools like Nagios, Grafana, or Zabbix
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, firewalls, and load balancers
• Ability to perform physical hardware tasks and manage datacenter best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• RHCSA or RHCE certifications
• Linux Foundation Certifications
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and DevOps workflows
• Familiarity with VDI operations and performance tuning
