Engineer II, FHIR

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain backend applications using Java, GoLang, and Python
• Design and implement FHIR-compliant APIs and services for healthcare data exchange
• Build and maintain integrations with FHIR servers and healthcare data platforms
• Support the transition from legacy data formats toward FHIR-based architectures
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins
• Manage database development using SQL, including performance tuning and optimization
• Work with AWS services to build scalable and secure cloud infrastructure
• Ensure data accuracy, validation, and compliance across healthcare reporting workflows

Requirements

• Experience working with HL7 FHIR standards, including resources, profiles, and implementation guides
• Experience building or integrating RESTful APIs aligned to FHIR specifications
• Experience with healthcare data formats such as QRDA, C-CDA, or claims data
• Strong relational database experience, specifically with PostgreSQL
• Experience with fully automated CI/CD pipelines from commit through production deployment
• US Citizenship or Green Card required (no sponsorship available)
• Ability to meet requirements for a US Government Public Trust position

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certifications and experience with AWS ECS Fargate, RDS, or S3
• Experience implementing US-Core FHIR implementation guides within enterprise systems
• Experience with Clinical Quality Language (CQL) or measure logic execution
• Experience with Databricks or modern data platforms
• Familiarity with CMS environments, data pipelines, or regulatory programs
