Engineer II - Additive Manufacturing Operations

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day operations of metal additive manufacturing machines and supporting labs
• Manage facility fit-out, including utility readiness, hook-ups, and layout drawings
• Set up builds and manage consumables such as powders, gases, filters, and optics covers
• Run LPBF, EBM, or DED builds according to SOPs and maintain electronic logs
• Perform daily and weekly QA and calibration checks to ensure maximum equipment utilization
• Provide first-line troubleshooting and contribute to OEE and uptime dashboards
• Host service engineers and manage FAT/SAT punch-lists and vendor interactions
• Coach technicians on SOPs and 5S while enforcing EHS, powder, and radiation safety procedures

Requirements

• BEng/BSc in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or Electrical Engineering
• 3–5 years of industry experience in additive manufacturing
• 10–15 years of total professional work experience
• Hands-on experience with metal AM, preferably LPBF
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and EHS standards in a lab environment
• Basic proficiency in CAD

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to EBM, DED/WAAM, or heat-treat/HIP processes
• Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or familiarity with TPM/OEE and 5S implementation
• Experience with metrology tools such as Alicona or optical scanning
• Awareness of in-situ monitoring technologies
• Basic scripting skills (Excel/Python) for log parsing and dashboard creation
• Experience hosting FAT/SAT and closing technical punch-lists
