Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test mechanical components, equipment, and machinery for custom emergency response vehicles.
• Use CAD and CAE software to develop structural designs, model new designs, and produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Assist with fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans.
• Verify designs through mathematical analysis, calculations, and other analytical techniques.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies to ensure robust engineering packages and manufacturing productivity.
• Identify root causes of technical problems and execute defined resolutions.
• Execute engineering changes through established documentation processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education.
• 0-2 years of related engineering experience.
• Proficiency with CAD and CAE software.
• Strong skills in mathematical analysis, modeling, and prototyping.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, specifically metal fabrication and assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computer simulation and design optimization.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes and reliability analysis.
