Engineer I Labs - HDS

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level laboratory testing on plastics, pipes, fittings, and plumbing products with minimal supervision
• Prepare and record all data in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements
• Monitor and maintain assigned lab equipment for calibrations and general maintenance
• Create, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary
• Research and develop sampling templates and testing requirements for specific standards
• Assist with internal and external audits and respond to client inquiries
• Maintain a clean work environment following 6s principles and safety/health policies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
• Proficiency with NSF lab applications including LIMS (Sample Manager), Qualer, and Insight
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and balances
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to utilize hand, power, and pneumatic tools
• Ability to properly handle and mix chemicals while understanding associated safety risks
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and perform physical lab work (approximately 80% of the role)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline
• 5+ years of NSF laboratory experience utilizing test standards and data analysis software
• Experience with laboratory QA/QC programs and internal/external audits
• Knowledge of polymers and plumbing products
