About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute hands-on device and final product characterization testing for biological drug delivery systems and combination products
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including viscometers, densitometers, UV-Vis spectrometers, and tensile testers
- Author, review, and execute test protocols, workbooks, and technical reports in accordance with GDP and GLP expectations
- Document experiment designs, methods, and results in electronic laboratory notebook systems with high accuracy
- Perform statistical and engineering data analysis to provide technical recommendations for project decisions
- Maintain laboratory readiness through equipment coordination, preventive maintenance, and workspace organization
- Support continuous improvement efforts such as workflow optimization and safety initiatives
- Train staff on laboratory procedures, equipment use, and documentation standards
Requirements
- Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree + 2 years of engineering experience OR Associate's degree + 6 years of engineering experience OR High school diploma + 8 years of engineering experience
- Hands-on laboratory experience
- Experience with technical documentation authoring (protocols, reports, work instructions)
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistics
- Experience operating laboratory equipment such as viscometers, UV-Vis, or environmental chambers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or combination product development environments
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Spotfire
- Proficiency with statistical software like JMP or Minitab
- Experience using Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN)
- Knowledge of CAD or SolidWorks
