Engineer I - IT Systems

Responsibilities

• Manage data pipelines by performing regular validation, cleansing, and debugging of data anomalies using SQL and dbt
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes to move data from various sources into data warehouses or lakes
• Write and optimize SQL transformations to support feature engineering and model training
• Set up data catalogs and monitor data and ML workloads using Databricks on AWS
• Support AWS-based lakehouse architectures, including Amazon S3 and IAM role configuration
• Enable AI-ready data models by applying dbt tests and documentation to ensure quality for AI consumption
• Assist in building training and inference workflows, including support for LLM-enabled use cases like RAG and semantic search
• Monitor model inputs and outputs to ensure data quality and stability

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 0-3 years of professional experience
• Strong SQL skills, including experience with joins, aggregations, and window functions
• Hands-on experience with Databricks on AWS (via academic, internship, or project-based work)
• Working knowledge of dbt Core, including models, tests, and documentation
• Familiarity with Python for data processing or ML workflows
• Experience using Git or other version control systems
• Understanding of data governance concepts, such as access control and lineage within Unity Catalog
