About the role

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced scientific principles to the systems integration of propulsion, thrusters, controllers, and mechanical/electrical interfaces for missile systems and space vehicles.
  • Support both development and production programs across Raytheon product lines.
  • Review manufacturing processes and resolve technical issues, working directly with subcontractors on solid rocket motor propulsion systems.
  • Manage propulsion system development projects and subcontracts, including reviewing data and overseeing supplier operations.
  • Collaborate with program management on long-range planning and technological research.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to management and government agencies.
  • Interface with customers to identify and address user needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • Experience in the development of solid propulsion systems from conceptual design through final test and assembly.
  • Experience in propulsive technology application (solid, liquid, or mono-propellant systems).
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Systems knowledge for the development and flow-down of propulsion requirements.
  • Project engineering experience using Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • Experience leading collaborative efforts with structural, thermal, aerodynamic, and low observable disciplines.
  • Experience with DoD customers or associated contractor technical leadership.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
