Engineer I - Buyer

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management within the Commercial Vehicle Solutions division
• Prepare and release monthly and weekly import/domestic dispatch plans to suppliers
• Issue purchase order (PO) schedules on time to ensure smooth supply flow within defined lead times
• Perform daily and weekly on-hand stock checks and prepare critical material lists
• Manage and control inventory for parts within target levels and safety stock policies
• Monitor shipment status with freight forwarders to prevent line shortages
• Plan and control shipments to avoid premium freight costs, such as air shipments

Requirements

• B.Tech (Mechanical) with 6-8 years of experience or Diploma (Mechanical) with 10 years of experience
• Strong knowledge of import logistics, customs clearance, and CHA coordination
• Proficiency in material planning, scheduling, and inventory control
• Experience using SAP for procurement and inventory management
• Ability to manage multi-country suppliers and large part portfolios
• Strong analytical skills for forecasting, BOM validation, and capacity planning
