Engineer – Geotechnical

Responsibilities

• Undertake analysis and consulting services for clients, including preparing technical reports, drawings, and documentation for geotechnical design.
• Produce and review designs for shallow and deep foundations, retaining wall analysis, slope stability, liquefaction analysis, and ground improvement.
• Support the calculation of embodied carbon across the project portfolio and assist in developing tools to reduce carbon in geotechnical designs.
• Promote and adopt digital engineering tools, processes, and workflows to enhance delivery efficiency.
• Perform verification and validation of deliverables through self-checks and peer reviews.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks with minimal supervision and provide mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

• Post Graduate Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Rock Mechanics (PhDs are welcome).
• 4-8 years of post-qualification professional experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Proficiency in GeoStudio, RocScience, SLIDE, Wallap, L Pile, Geo5, Plaxis, and Cliq.
• Expertise in OneClick LCA for carbon estimation.
• Strong technical report writing and quantitative analytical skills.
• Familiarity with geotechnical design for soft soils, liquefaction, settlement, dredging, and reclamation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional studies in carbon estimation or carbon reduction in design.
• Experience with Australian design codes, standards, and legislation.
• Membership of professional organizations or chartered status.
• Experience in site investigation techniques and supervising field investigation works.
