About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new hand-operated and automated power tools for the industrial market, including precision torque and riveting tools.
- Oversee the product development process for core products and manage advanced development projects through production release.
- Create 2D drawings and 3D models using Pro-E Creo 4 software.
- Design and develop mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, and associated test equipment or assembly fixtures.
- Perform feasibility and risk assessments using rapid prototyping, design stack-ups, design studies, and DFMEA.
- Participate in cross-functional brainstorming and problem-solving sessions to validate new designs and enhancements.
- Create and review engineering documentation and change requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering design technology or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in designing complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD, specifically using Pro-E Creo 4 design tools.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, DFMEA, and stack-up analysis.
- Experience with inspection and measuring equipment techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong project management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the design and validation of electrical components and associated test equipment.
- Experience using mechanical software for design and performance simulations.
- Background in designing tools for torquing or riveting applications.
- Strong knowledge of various manufacturing processes.
