About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of new hand-operated and automated power tools for the industrial market, including precision torque drivers and riveting tools.
  • Create 2D drawings and 3D models using Pro-E Creo software.
  • Design and develop mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, and associated test equipment or assembly fixtures.
  • Participate in cross-functional brainstorming and problem-solving sessions to validate new designs and enhancements.
  • Perform feasibility and risk assessments using rapid prototyping, design stack-ups, design studies, and DFMEA.
  • Create and review engineering documentation and change requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering design technology or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in designing complex mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD, specifically Pro-E Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, DFMEA, and stack-up analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong project management skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design and validation of electrical components and associated test equipment.
  • Experience using mechanical software for design and performance simulations.
  • Experience designing tools for torquing or riveting applications.
  • Strong knowledge of various manufacturing processes.
