About the role
Responsibilities
- Responsible for engineering design and development of vehicle exterior systems including bumpers, fascia, grilles, brackets, and structural reinforcements
- Develop Scout Bumper/Fascia Standards and Requirements to ensure robust product integration
- Lead Product Development Teams to collaborate cross-functionally on design direction, packaging, and execution
- Ensure program targets for cost, investment, weight, and quality are met
- Direct design and analysis groups to create 3D CAD models and validate with analytical models like FEA and CFD
- Ensure all exterior components meet global safety regulations and manufacturing processes
- Support product launches by troubleshooting fit, finish, and manufacturing concerns
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle exterior bumpers, fascia, Class A components, or trim mechanical areas
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or relevant engineering field
- Proficiency with CAD tools, specifically CATIA V5/V6
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools like Teamcenter
- Strong understanding of GD&T, material selection, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Hands-on experience in automotive product launch and prototype builds
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
