About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide process and equipment engineering support at the Rhode Island site
- Translate design requirements into process equipment and system solutions
- Perform engineering studies and assessments for process equipment, clean utilities, and facility improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, automation, or process issues in the field
- Apply LEAN methodology to ensure optimal performance and reliability of process systems
- Collaborate with manufacturing, utility operations, maintenance, quality assurance, and validation teams
- Manage system ownership, including job plans, preventative maintenance, and spare parts evaluation
- Provide on-call support coverage on a rotating weekend basis
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of Engineering or Biotechnology experience
- Associate’s degree and 6 years of Engineering or Biotechnology experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Engineering or Biotechnology experience
- Master’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing support environment
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries
- Knowledge of downstream unit operations such as Chromatography or Tangential Flow Filtration
- Familiarity with protein purification equipment and disposable technologies
- Experience with Tech Transfer, Process Design, and Commissioning & Qualification
- Direct experience working in regulated environments (cGMP, OSHA, EPA)
