Engineer 2 - Planning & Design

Responsibilities

• Design broadband communication systems, including layout designs for coaxial and fiber placement, routing, and connectivity.
• Verify that designs adhere to regional hybrid fiber coax (HFC) architecture and design specifications.
• Conduct analysis to determine system efficiency, equipment economy, and operational simplicity.
• Prepare technical documentation including prints, special maps, graphs, diagrams, and graphic drawings.
• Generate HFC design packages for construction, including BOM, splice matrices, and optical design files.
• Plan Coax networks (brownfield/greenfield, mid-split, relocates) and Fiber networks (Metro-E).
• Maintain and update system maps, keys, and design files within spatial tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (or an equivalent combination of coursework and experience).
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in engineering or network design.
• Proficiency with design software packages.
• Strong knowledge of HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax) architecture.
