Engineer 2 - Planning and Design

Responsibilities

• Design broadband communication systems, including layout designs for coaxial and fiber placement, routing, and connectivity
• Verify designs adhere to regional hybrid fiber coax (HFC) architecture and design specifications
• Conduct analysis to determine system efficiency, equipment economy, and operational simplicity
• Prepare technical documentation including prints, maps, graphs, diagrams, and graphic drawings
• Generate HFC design packages for construction, including BOM, splice matrices, and optical designs
• Plan coax networks (brownfield/greenfield) and fiber networks (Metro-E)
• Maintain and update system maps, keys, and design files using specialized software

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in engineering or design
• Proficiency with design software packages
• Strong knowledge of HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax) architecture
