Engine Development Dynamometer Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer testing following procedural and non-procedural plans
• Perform mechanical setup, installation, and removal of engines on a dynamometer
• Collect, review, and validate testing data to ensure accuracy and quality
• Connect test instrumentation and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and data issues
• Collaborate with test engineers and calibrators to support engine hardware and calibration development
• Maintain equipment calibrations and apply problem-solving techniques for continuous improvement
• Champion safety protocols for themselves and others in the test cell environment

Requirements

• 2-year associate degree in a mechanical/engineering field or 5+ years of equivalent technician experience
• Demonstrated experience installing and removing engines on a dynamometer
• Hands-on experience with test instrumentation and engine component installation
• Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel internal combustion engines
• Proficiency with PUMA, INCA, and Indicom test bed software
• Ability to work second shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) and off shifts as needed
• Strong mechanical, fabrication, and analytical troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Engine Development or Engine Validation Testing
• 5+ years of experience specifically with PUMA, INCA, and Indicom Test Bed Systems
• 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automotive, Leadership, or a related field
