Energy Specialist

Responsibilities

• Propose and document the conceptual architecture of energy installations and smart sensors to ensure scalable monitoring.
• Define energy KPIs and insights to enable actionable performance monitoring.
• Create guidelines and protocols for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of energy sensors.
• Install and configure energy sensors and systems on-site and within IT platforms for pilot missions.
• Assess the accuracy and usability of collected energy data to support operational decision-making.
• Collect feedback from field and HQ users to drive continuous improvement of the monitoring system.
• Train end-users in pilot missions on system maintenance and data leverage.

Requirements

• Tertiary education in electrical engineering, energy systems, renewable energy, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience installing energy systems and sensors.
• Experience working within humanitarian operations.
• Full fluency in both French and English.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical installations, including solar panels, generators, and grid connections.
• Understanding of IoT concepts, data collection principles, and digital monitoring systems.
• Ability to work autonomously and adapt to low-resource or humanitarian settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Educational background specifically in energy monitoring, instrumentation, or connected systems.
• Previous experience working in MSF field missions.
