Energy Marshal - Data Center

Responsibilities

• Manage Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure compliance across all contractors
• Act as the primary liaison between construction, commissioning, and operations teams regarding energy safety
• Review and approve energy isolation plans and permits
• Conduct field inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety protocols
• Stop unsafe work practices and enforce OSHA and NFPA 70E standards
• Monitor and report on energy usage and performance metrics
• Validate mechanical and electrical system performance during commissioning
• Assist in implementing energy-saving strategies and sustainability best practices
• Maintain detailed records of energy control activities and compliance metrics
• Train and mentor teams on electrical safety and energy isolation procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field
• 8 years in electrical safety management, preferably in data center or mission-critical environments
• Experience with energy isolation systems, commissioning processes, and large-scale electrical infrastructure
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, HVAC, UPS, switchgear, and BMS
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and commissioning documentation
• Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and energy monitoring tools
