About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and coach production employees to meet safety, quality, and output targets
- Execute production schedules and adjust staffing/priorities as needed
- Monitor production processes and ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements
- Enforce safety policies and conduct toolbox talks
- Identify and resolve production issues regarding equipment, material, and methods
- Track and report KPIs including scrap, throughput, downtime, and rework
- Lead 5S, lean, and continuous improvement activities
- Conduct employee training, onboarding, and performance evaluations
- Ensure accurate completion of production records and ERP/MES transactions
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in energetics, propulsion, or aerospace manufacturing
- At least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
- Knowledge of energetic material handling and hazardous production operations
- Proficiency with ERP, MES, or traveler systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred
- Must be 21+ years of age and able to pass background checks and drug tests for explosives licensing
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of rocket motor assembly
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies
