Endoscopy Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for patients to prevent potential injury
• Evaluate and complete assessment of patient needs before, during, and after procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete endoscopy records
• Clean and disinfect endoscopy equipment
• Operate and troubleshoot endoscopy and patient monitoring equipment
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and medications
• Participate in QI, Materials Management, Safety, and Infection Control programs
• Communicate pertinent information to co-workers and report errors

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) obtained within 30 days of hire
• Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a same day surgery environment
• Associates Degree in medical assisting or prior technician experience preferred
• 1+ years of previous GI experience preferred
