Employment Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on employment matters including onboarding, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Draft and review employment agreements, offer letters, contractor agreements, and company policies
• Advise on employee relations issues and lead workplace investigations
• Manage outside employment counsel and oversee litigation matters
• Partner with People Operations and GRC teams on compliance training and policy implementation
• Support M&A due diligence and integration efforts related to employment

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 5+ years of experience practicing employment law
• Proven experience conducting workplace investigations
• Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and Title VII
• Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice

Preferred Qualifications

• In-house experience at a technology or SaaS company
• Experience supporting global or distributed workforces
• Familiarity with immigration and mobility considerations in a tech environment
• Prior experience in a high-growth or startup company
• Experience with employment aspects of M&A transactions
