Emergency Veterinarian

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone
• Conduct physical examinations and gather vitals, signalment, and presenting complaints
• Perform diagnostic measures including ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies
• Create diagnostic and therapeutic plans and communicate them to customers
• Prepare and present cost estimates to customers
• Create and review accurate medical records
• Perform minor and major emergency soft tissue surgeries and endoscopic procedures
• Educate customers on aftercare and preventative measures

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent degree
• Experience in emergency medicine, including soft tissue surgery and endoscopy
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg
• Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
