About the role
Responsibilities
- Answer medical questions over the phone
- Conduct physical examinations and gather vitals, signalment, and presenting complaints
- Perform diagnostic measures including ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies
- Create diagnostic and therapeutic plans and communicate them to customers
- Prepare and present treatment estimates to customers
- Perform minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Educate customers on aftercare and preventative measures
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent degree
- Experience in emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, and endoscopy
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with various personality types
