About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups
- Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions
- Manage client communication, education, and rapport building
- Maintain accurate medical records and follow controlled substance protocols
- Monitor hospital cases and participate in daily rounds to ensure high standards of care
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and hospital protocols
Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited college or university
- Current State Veterinary License
- Valid DEA registration
- 1+ years of experience in emergency veterinary practice
- Strong diagnostic, clinical, surgical, and dental skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced clinical knowledge in cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, or neurological examinations
- Strong problem-solving skills regarding hospital management
- Professionalism and ability to provide/receive constructive feedback
- Business acumen regarding veterinary practice finances
