Emergency Spill Response Technician

Responsibilities

• Respond at a moment’s notice to HAZMAT emergency responses involving rail, road, and fixed facilities
• Perform chemical transloading between various containment methods, including tank cars and trucks
• Execute chemical neutralization and decontamination procedures as required
• Organize necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and documentation for emergency activations
• Maintain and service emergency response equipment to ensure operational readiness
• Lead safety initiatives by following company procedures and completing all required safety documentation
• Participate in live training events and specialized scheduled projects

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
• Ability to work on-call and travel, including working out of town as needed
• Physically fit and able to wear chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection
• Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper respiratory protection fit
• Experience in handling hazardous materials or emergency response is an asset
• Knowledge of vacuum trucks and power wash equipment is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license
• Prior training in HAZMAT Technician, Tank Car Specialist, or Tank Truck Specialist roles
• Experience with Incident Command System (ICS) or Confined Space Entry
