High school graduate or equivalent, CNA with phlebotomy or EKG experience, MA with phlebotomy or EKG experience, EMT-B or EMT-P, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist and augment registered nursing staff in providing high-quality patient care
  • Transport patients throughout the hospital as needed
  • Perform and maintain Point of Care (POC) testing and EKG, including QC and data transmission
  • Maintain a clean work environment by preparing emergency department rooms for new patients
  • Keep medical supplies and linens at par levels in assigned areas
  • Provide supervision for medically or psychologically compromised patients when required

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • CNA with phlebotomy certification or EKG experience, OR
  • MA with phlebotomy certification or EKG experience, OR
  • EMT-B or EMT-P certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform patient assistance without direct supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, and the public

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in an Emergency Department
  • ACLS or PALS certification
