About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist and augment registered nursing staff in providing high-quality patient care
- Transport patients throughout the hospital as needed
- Perform and maintain Point of Care (POC) testing and EKG, including QC and data transmission
- Maintain a clean work environment by preparing emergency department rooms for new patients
- Keep medical supplies and linens at par levels in assigned areas
- Provide supervision for medically or psychologically compromised patients when required
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- CNA with phlebotomy certification or EKG experience, OR
- MA with phlebotomy certification or EKG experience, OR
- EMT-B or EMT-P certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform patient assistance without direct supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, and the public
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an Emergency Department
- ACLS or PALS certification
