About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide acute, urgent, and emergency medical care within an independently operated remote clinic environment
  • Respond to medical emergencies and stabilize patients until evacuation or higher-level care is available
  • Coordinate and manage medical evacuations, including communication and care coordination activities
  • Support diagnostic and treatment services through telemedicine, teleradiology collaboration, and basic X-ray interpretation
  • Maintain clinical oversight activities including medical documentation, infection control standards, and patient safety practices
  • Supervise medical staff workflows and support coordinated healthcare delivery across the site
  • Maintain clinic equipment, medications, and medical supplies
  • Ensure accurate medical record documentation and regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted Physician Assistant license in a U.S. state, DC, or Puerto Rico
  • Physician Assistant degree from an accredited institution
  • Extensive emergency room experience
  • NCCPA certification
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • DEA license
  • Ability to respond to on-site medical emergencies within 30 minutes
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required federal background screening (NACI/Tier 1 equivalent)
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Card
  • Willingness to work in a remote island-based healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in high-acuity remote, rural, military, or international healthcare environments
  • Experience coordinating medical evacuations and remote healthcare logistics
  • ATLS certification
  • Experience with telemedicine, teleradiology, and independent X-ray interpretation
