Emergency Medical Dispatcher - Call Handler

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency 111 calls and provide calm, compassionate care to callers during stressful situations
• Collect and accurately input critical information into the computer aided dispatch system
• Deliver scripted life-saving instructions including CPR, childbirth, and bleeding control
• Manage complex, high-pressure medical emergencies with focus and composure
• Collaborate with a national team to deliver exceptional patient care
• Make outbound calls to patients to provide reassurance and reassess their condition

Requirements

• Experience in a fast-paced, people-focused role
• Strong listening and written communication skills
• High resilience and ability to remain professional during traumatic incidents
• Ability to follow structured processes and procedures accurately
• Strong computer literacy and ability to work across multiple screens
• Fast and accurate typing skills
• Strong learning agility
• Must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
