Emergency Management Public Assistance Specialist

Our experienced professionals have been a part of the growth and modernization of emergency management for nearly 30 years, supporting programs for challenging natural disasters and catastrophic events.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and expertise to help clients through the recovery process
• Analyze and evaluate project applications, documentation, and inspection reports for FEMA compliance
• Ensure quality, completeness, and on-time delivery of assigned tasks
• Utilize grant portal systems to track and evaluate client information
• Maintain knowledge of procurement and contracting requirements
• Work through all phases of the grant lifecycle

Requirements

• 1-7+ years of FEMA public assistance and grant experience
• Practical knowledge of FEMA categories A, B, and E
• Experience in at least 2 major disaster recovery efforts
• Experience writing project worksheets (PWs)
• Experience using database software for project eligibility and cost estimation
• Experience working in and supporting an Emergency Operations Center
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Ability to deploy anywhere in the US with 24-48 hours notice
• Ability to travel up to 100%

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or a relevant field
• Experience conducting preliminary damage assessments (PDAs) in the field
• Financial compliance experience
