Emergency Disaster Social Services Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support for the Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) program
• Assist with the organization and delivery of training courses within the catchment area
• Help ensure clients receive pastoral care, emotional support, and immediate material needs like food and clothing
• Maintain vehicles and equipment to ensure constant state of readiness
• Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of EDS volunteers
• Support financial tasks including processing invoices, receipts, and managing gift card controls
• Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, managing mail, and maintaining inventory
• Provide oversight to volunteers during disaster deployments when directed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of prior related experience, including experience with office equipment and tools
• Valid Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract
