Embodied AI Lead

Responsibilities

• Design the overall Robot Brain architecture including System 2 (VLM/LLM/VLA), System 1 (visuomotor control), and World model integration
• Define short-term and long-term technical roadmaps balancing innovation and deliverables
• Make key decisions on model families and training strategies such as diffusion policies and RL/BC hybrids
• Lead the implementation and deployment of the first production version of the Robot Brain on robot platforms
• Collaborate with Control, Robotics, Agent, and Platform teams to ensure physical feasibility and data pipeline efficiency
• Define evaluation protocols for task success, robustness, and safety
• Hire, mentor, and lead a small Embodied AI team of 3–6 engineers/researchers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher in CS, Robotics, EE, or a related field
• 5+ years in ML or robotics
• 2+ years in a lead or tech lead role
• Deep experience in at least two core robotics/ML domains
• Proven track record deploying ML models on real robotic hardware
• Strong coding skills in Python
• Experience with PyTorch or JAX and multi-GPU training
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent industry research experience in Robotics, AI, or Machine Learning
• Hands-on experience with foundation models for robotics (VLMs, VLAs, or multimodal LLM-based agents)
• Experience building or scaling robot learning systems in production, including sim-to-real transfer and continuous learning loops
