Embedded Systems Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage firmware configuration to ensure optimal utilization of onboard sensors
• Tune and optimize motion control parameters (PID loops) and state estimation filters (EKF)
• Perform deep-dive investigations into critical system failures and analyze logs
• Architect and debug communication links using UART, Ethernet, I2C, and SPI
• Develop and maintain internal CLI tools using Python and Bash
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing of embedded systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on autonomous robotics platforms

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in systems engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering
• 5+ years of industry work experience
• Experience with embedded systems, toolchains, and firmware flashing
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash
• Proficiency in Linux environments with a CLI focus
• Understanding of hardware protocols (UART, Ethernet, I2C, SPI)
• Experience analyzing system logs for software and sensor failures
• Understanding of control theory (PID loops) and sensor fusion (Kalman filters)
• Experience with Git

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics middleware for autonomous mobile platforms
• Hands-on experience integrating sensors, actuators, and companion computers
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems
• Familiarity with GCP or other cloud services
