About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software development and test tools
- Build tooling for chip, SoC, and board bring-up, firmware development, and RTOS/Linux characterization
- Develop tools for flashing, provisioning, configuration, calibration, and recovery of embedded devices
- Create debugging, tracing, and diagnostics tools interfacing with JTAG/SWD and target-side firmware
- Build automation for build, test, and deployment pipelines, including Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)
- Design and maintain tooling for factory use cases, including production flashing and validation
- Develop simulation, emulation, and test harnesses to enable faster iteration
- Integrate toolchains across heterogeneous targets like MCUs, CPUs, DSPs, NPUs, and GPUs
- Improve observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and crash analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience developing software tools for embedded or systems environments
- Proficiency in Python, C, C++, and Shell scripting (Bash)
- Solid understanding of embedded systems fundamentals (boot flows, memory, interrupts, concurrency)
- Experience with RTOS and Linux-based embedded systems
- Experience with embedded build systems and cross-compilation toolchains
- Strong debugging skills across hardware and software boundaries
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with embedded Linux environments (Yocto, Buildroot)
- Experience with RTOS-based systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, QNX)
- Familiarity with hardware debug tools like JTAG/SWD, OpenOCD, GDB, or Lauterbach
- Experience building HIL, SIL, and automated factory test frameworks
- Experience with emulation tools like QEMU
- Experience with CI/CD systems for embedded software
- Knowledge of CUDA and GPU programming
