Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and implement software for embedded devices and systems on unmanned aircraft
• Write and test software to support the integration of sensors and processors into aircraft
• Debug, troubleshoot, and isolate software issues
• Read schematics and use standard debugging equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines
• Participate in design and peer reviews
• Maintain high standards of software quality and configuration control

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field
• 0-3 years of experience in developing embedded software for real-time systems
• Experience with real-time operating systems (VxWorks or FreeRTOS preferred)
• Proficiency in C/C++ in a real-time embedded environment
• Experience using MATLAB and Simulink
• Experience with CAN bus, SPI, and serial protocols (RS485, etc.)
• Ability to read and understand electrical hardware schematics
• Experience writing firmware/embedded code for physical devices
• Experience using an oscilloscope and logic analyzer for debugging boards
