About the Company
At Intramotev, we are building self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles to change the paradigm in freight logistics. We are liberating tons of freight from congested highways, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing transportation efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain firmware for embedded devices or subsystems on FreeRTOS or embedded Linux using C and C++
- Debug and validate firmware behavior on real hardware using JTAG/SWD and logic analyzers
- Implement and troubleshoot CAN bus and comparable vehicle-network communication
- Write unit tests and verify behavior on target hardware to meet coverage expectations
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate using Git in a branching/PR workflow
- Solve underspecified problems and reason about trade-offs on real hardware
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2–5 years of professional embedded software experience shipping production firmware
- Strong C and C++ skills on a real-time RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS or Zephyr) or embedded Linux
- Experience with on-target debugging using JTAG/SWD or logic analyzers
- Familiarity with CAN bus or comparable vehicle/industrial network protocols
- Disciplined testing practice including unit testing and hardware verification
- Proficiency with Git and Linux command-line environments
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Motor-control or vehicle-control firmware experience
- Exposure to functional-safety practices (MISRA C/C++, static analysis, fault injection)
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test infrastructure experience
- Prior experience in rail, EV, automotive, or unmanned-systems
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Claude, Cursor, or Copilot
