About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead development and maintenance of low-level software control systems for uncrewed surface vessels
- Design and optimize drivers for communication protocols like CAN and RS485
- Integrate and test drivers for motors, batteries, actuators, and sensors
- Set up and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
- Experience developing embedded software for STM32 using C/C++ with RTOS
- In-depth knowledge of CAN and RS485 communication protocols
- US Citizenship and eligibility for Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PX4 or ArduPilot open-source autopilot codebases
- Background in automotive or marine systems with bus-based architectures
- Familiarity with pub/sub architectures like DDS on resource-constrained systems
