Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and ship development tools and prototype code for R&D engineers working on new products
• Design, build, test, and ship code for new printer features to tens of thousands of devices in the field
• Ensure code re-use with a strong focus on maintainability, testing, and CI
• Architect code that is highly reusable and exciting for fellow software engineers to use
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to ensure features meet customer needs
• Work in a product-focused, agile environment onsite in Somerville, MA

Requirements

• Professional experience writing code for hardware products in consumer, medical, defense, or industrial spaces
• Proficiency in modern embedded languages, specifically C, C++, or Python
• Knowledge of embedded software architecture patterns such as filtering, control loops, and remote procedure calls
• Experience debugging complex hardware and software interactions
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts simply to non-software stakeholders
