Embedded Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assess and guide security for existing and new products
• Lead efforts in establishing and maintaining secure boot processes for embedded devices to ensure firmware and software integrity
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and manage HSM solutions for robust encryption and key management
• Work with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and product management, to integrate security into the entire development lifecycle

Requirements

• MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field
• 5+ years of experience in a product or cybersecurity security engineering role
• Expertise in secure boot processes, HSM integration, and BSP maintenance for embedded devices
• Strong understanding of cryptographic principles, protocols, and algorithms
• Proficiency in programming languages used in embedded systems, such as C, C++, or Python
• Familiarity with industry-standard security frameworks and compliance requirements like FIPS 140-2 or Common Criteria

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience with automotive embedded systems, including ECUs and in-vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
• Familiarity with automotive security standards such as ISO/SAE 21434 or UNECE WP.29
• Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics protocols (OBD-II, UDS) and secure Over-The-Air (OTA) update mechanisms
