Embedded Linux Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the embedded software stack including bootloader, kernel, devicetree, BSP, and drivers for SoC-based compute platforms
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers and userspace integration for sensors, GMSL cameras, displays, and high-speed interconnects
• Manage build systems and BSP layers using Yocto, Buildroot, or vendor SDKs
• Collaborate with electrical engineering to debug and bring up custom carrier boards
• Work with software and machine-learning teams to optimize performance across the robotics stack
• Design and implement end-to-end OTA update solutions

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of embedded Linux or systems software development experience
• Hands-on experience with modern application-class SoCs such as NVIDIA Jetson or Qualcomm Snapdragon
• Strong proficiency in C, with additional experience in C++ or Rust
• Deep experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or equivalent embedded Linux build systems
• Strong hardware debugging skills, including reading schematics and using scopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering a project from the prototype phase into full production
• Experience with PREEMPT_RT or RTOS-based firmware development
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, data analysis, or test automation
• Knowledge of power management, secure boot, and production-readiness concerns
