About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement FPGA and firmware solutions for advanced national defense and scientific applications.
- Engage in the design of embedded systems, ensuring they meet rigorous performance and timing standards.
- Conduct real-time data processing using advanced algorithms to support critical mission objectives.
- Participate in the architecture and development of large-scale, complex integrated systems.
- Develop, implement, and validate algorithms to enhance system capabilities.
- Create code and test benches to ensure thorough testing and simulation of firmware and software components.
- Apply verification and validation techniques to ensure the integrity of developed systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE-Q level security clearance.
- Experience with embedded software or firmware development.
- Experience with FPGA design tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, SynplifyPro).
- Experience in logic verification (e.g., System Verilog/UVM).
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field.
- Experience with firmware or software DSP implementation.
- Experience taking FPGA designs to hardware/ASIC and utilizing debug tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Experience in low-level device driver development and hardware interfacing.
- Experience with software quality tools such as GitLab, linters, and continuous integration tools.
- Active DOE Q-level or SCI level security clearance.
