Embedded Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical product lead for the HUSKY bus platform, owning firmware architecture and driving development cycles
• Design, develop, and verify embedded firmware for real-time systems including power management and communication schemas
• Develop and maintain firmware for low-level hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
• Define and document system architecture, including interface control documents and power budgets
• Partner with electrical engineers to review schematics and validate hardware bring-up
• Support defense cybersecurity efforts, including RMF processes and secure boot implementation
• Support field test flights and customer demonstrations with on-site firmware expertise

Requirements

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Located near Denver, CO
• 5+ years of embedded firmware engineering experience
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded targets
• Strong understanding of network topology (Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP)
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MBSE tools like Cameo or MagicDraw
• Background working with defense customers or DoD programs
• Experience with FPGAs (Xilinx/AMD or Intel/Altera) and HDL development
• Familiarity with aerospace or high-altitude platform avionics
• Experience in power electronics firmware
