Embedded Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the architectural design, implementation, verification, and validation of firmware for embedded products.
• Support semiconductor manufacturing and other advanced markets through high-quality firmware development.
• Engage with customers to understand application challenges and create advanced features to drive their success.
• Support the development and diagnostics of hardware surrounding the processor.
• Collaborate with software engineers and scientists across different disciplines to solve complex technical problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded system architecture and algorithm development.
• Fluency in C and C++ programming languages.
• Hands-on experience using emulators, oscilloscopes, and communication bus monitoring hardware/software for debugging.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EtherCat, Devicenet, or comparable field buses.
• Proficiency with Python or FreeRTOS.
• Experience with STM32 or Hilscher netX90 family of processors.
• Experience designing for semiconductor capital equipment.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, and other board-level communication interfaces.
• Ability to troubleshoot at the component or board level.
